WHAT WILL LIFE BE LIKE WHEN YOU FIRST COME TO THE US?
“Sister, I didn’t think buying a car in the US would be so complicated… You have to have a driver’s license first, then after buying the car you have to buy insurance for the car, do all the paperwork. Before, I thought it would be simple just pay the money and then take the car home to drive, but I didn’t expect it would be so complicated. Luckily, my brothers and sisters helped me so everything went smoothly…”
This is the sharing of a doctor student in the course U.S. Medical Residency Coaching in the recent meeting with me.
He is a man full of bravery and determination when he brought his whole family, including his wife and young children, to America to pursue his dream of becoming a doctor in America. From the first days of confusion, the couple now has a driver’s license and is confident in driving around the US, has a stable place to live, and their children are well integrated into the environment here.
Unlike this doctor, I also have many doctor students who are single women who came to America alone to pursue their dreams, with many strange and confused feelings. Everything is new, from entering the US, finding a place to stay, going to the market, opening a bank card, learning to drive in the US, to seemingly simple things like using a microwave, you have to get used to it.
More than 20 years ago, I myself also experienced shocks when starting a new life in America, so I understand your feelings very well.
Therefore, my motto is that Phoenix Medical Academy will be your second home when you come to America. You will always have a solid support when you have to leave your homeland, when you do not have family or relatives by your side.
Team Phoenix Medical Academy and I always create conditions for you to have a safe, stable, and favorable living environment in the US – from preparing your luggage while in Vietnam to settling down. when coming to the US (finding housing, transportation, eating out, shopping, health care, etc.), and problems that arise in life.
Although these supports are not part of the U.S. Medical Residency Coaching officially, but I always do it with all my heart and responsibility, because I understand that it will be very difficult to succeed if life is unstable.
The journey to becoming a doctor in the US is not simply about earning a residency ticket, but also a journey to building a completely new life, in a new horizon. And I feel honored to be your guide.
From the first day we worked together, I told my fellow students, “If you have any problems in the US or have any questions (related to USMLE or U.S. residency or not), just ask me. I will support you all the way. possible.”
Now, when I look at you – each with a completely different situation – but all confident and integrated with the culture and living environment in America, I feel secure and happy.
Although we know that the road ahead will always have new difficulties and challenges, the Phoenix Medical Academy team and I will always accompany you to success.
If you are a Vietnamese doctor who wants to conquer the journey of becoming a doctor in the US or are a parent with a child who wants to conquer this dream, and has many worries, please share with me. Team Phoenix Medical Academy and I will always try to support!
Wishing you a peaceful evening!
