1. ABOUT DR. CHRISTINA NGUYEN

I am Dr. Christina Nguyen, a Doctor of Medicine and family physician, currently living and working with CommonSpirit Health, a leading healthcare organization in the U.S.

Many years ago, when I sat down to write my Bill Gates scholarship application essay, I wrote:

“My goals in life are to develop my full potential and contribute to making this world a better place.”

In other words:

“My goal in life is to develop all of my potential and contribute to making this world a better place.”

When choosing a university, a major, and later a specialty to pursue, I always wrestled with how I could live out that goal.

And so I chose medicine—to become a family physician in the U.S.

Every day I examine and treat many different patients, from elderly people who walk unsteadily and need a cane, to newborn babies; I encounter many different circumstances—some in physical pain, others tormented by pain in their hearts.

They do not know whom to confide in, and they trust me as their doctor to share with.

Although medicine is not a path lined with roses—and I have felt exhausted many times—the opportunity to practice as a physician in the U.S. is a truly special gift life has given me.

That is why I want to support and guide Vietnamese doctors so they can pursue their dream of becoming physicians in the U.S.

2. THE PHOENIX MEDICAL ACADEMY – THE STORY BEHIND THE NAME

The question is: what should I do best? What model can create the greatest value and remain sustainable over time?

I learned, reflected, and thought for a long time to find an answer.

What I realized is that instead of spreading myself thin and offering only superficial value, I should focus on supporting and walking alongside those who truly need me, want my guidance, and are a good fit—so I can help them achieve their dream of becoming physicians in the U.S.

Beyond creating meaningful value for the community, I also want to attract physicians with both heart and vision to help build The Phoenix Medical Academy for the long term—with the joy of contributing AND fair compensation. The truth is, no one can sustain a passion on their own pocket forever!

The mission of The Phoenix Medical Academy is to help Vietnamese doctors and medical students realize their dream of becoming physicians in the U.S., while also building the income and life they DESERVE.

The symbol of The Phoenix Medical Academy is a fiery phoenix spreading its wings—rising to embody the five noblest values of medicine: Compassion, Resilience, Integrity, a Passion for Learning, and Leadership.

So does The Phoenix Medical Academy only have paid programs?

Absolutely not.

In addition to special paid programs for those who truly want in-depth support from me and the Phoenix team, Phoenix has also been developing non-profit programs and scholarship funds to support Vietnamese doctors and medical students.

The Phoenix team and I will also continue to regularly share useful information about learning English, medical English, the USMLE journey, soft skills, personal development and a success mindset, and organizing talent-connecting events—just as we have been doing.

This is a foundational part of The Phoenix Medical Academy’s mission, and I will always strive to help Phoenix grow sustainably and strongly so that more generations of Vietnamese doctors can succeed around the world.

Thank you for your interest and support over the years.
