THE CONVERSATION THAT CHANGED MY LIFE

Many years ago, when I was still in high school, my teacher once asked me, “Where do you want to go to college?”

At that time I innocently answered, “If I get a scholarship, I want to study at university.” Creighton.”

She said,“I have to say When I get a scholarship.” “When, not if.”
After speaking, she gave me a very affectionate smile.

To this day I still remember her words.

1. INFLUENCE OF FATEFUL QUOTES

“When, not if.”
Actually, this saying has completely changed my way of thinking.

Before, I always felt worried and uncertain.

After my father passed away and my parents and I went to America, I didn’t know what life would be like tomorrow.

I always felt a lot of uncertainty.

I didn’t know if I would be able to go to college, I didn’t know. Whether they are successful in their practice or not, they don’t know what job they will do in the future, they don’t know if they will be successful or not…

There is always uncertainty.

Therefore, my thinking is always like “If…”

“If I get a scholarship, I will go to university.”
“If I have the opportunity to continue studying then I will continue to study.”

But her words helped me switch to the mindset of “When…”

“When I get a scholarship, then I will …”
“When I am accepted into medical school, I will …”
“When I become a doctor then I will … “

This is a change from “hoping that something will happen”
to “trusting that something will definitely happen.”

2. ACHIEVEMENTS IN LIFE

There are many people who worry that“If you say it first, you won’t be able to get through it” and think that how can you say that with certainty, what if it doesn’t work.

But I can tell you that, as long as you are confident that you can do something even if it hasn’t happened yet, you will be able to do it.

This sounds like magic or the law of attraction. But that’s not the case.
The real reason is because once you have a strong belief that you can do something, you will try your best and do everything possible to do it.

Once a student asked me, “Sister, did you ever think you wouldn’t get into medical school?”

At that time I remembered and realized I realized that at that time I never thought I wouldn’t be able to get in. At that time, I had a strong belief that I would study medicine and become a doctor. I have absolutely no backup plan (Plan B) as to what I will do if I don’t get to be a doctor.

I was sure that I MUST pass and WILL pass, I put all my heart and soul into preparing my application as best as possible.

  • If I have to stay up late and wake up early to study, I will stay up late and wake up early.
  • If I have to sacrifice my free time to volunteer in the hospital, I am willing to sacrifice.
  • If I have to spend money studying for the MCAT exam, I will work extra to earn money to study for the exam.
  • If I have to overcome the shyness to ask and ask her to write a letter of recommendation for me, I will overcome it.
  • If I have to learn how to Dress professionally for the interview, I will study.
  • If I have to stand in front of the mirror to practice how to speak fluently, I will practice.
  • If I don’t pass the first time, I will continue to apply until I am accepted.

All these efforts are not easy and achieving the set goals is not simple, but once you decide, you will have to do it at all costs.

In the same way, I believe that when you want to achieve something and you don’t give yourself“a way out”. You will also seriously research, study, plan, and practice. execute that plan thoroughly.

And then surely “God will not disappoint people”.

Please comment “Yes” if you agree.

Wish you always believe in yourself and achieve much success!

Repeat pen: This belief does not apply to luck-based goals like winning the lottery.

Family Doctor in the U.S.

Years ago, when I sat down to write my application essay for the Bill Gates scholarship, I wrote about the dream of becoming a doctor who could help people across languages and cultures. That journey eventually led me to practice family medicine in the United States and to build The Phoenix Medical Academy — so students and immigrant families can find clearer guidance on studying medicine, residency, and life in America.
